Cava de Oro Barrica Selecta Cask Strength Extra Anejo Tequila 2018 Edition 750ml is the first edition of a very limited series of cask or "barrel" strength tequila from Zee and Alberto Partido of Cava de Oro.
This is a dangerously drinkable unfiltered cask strength sipping tequila with a dark amber color. Notes of cooked agave lead with a prescence of chocolate, fruits, and spices, and a nice warm vanilla oak finish. Best sipped neat or on the rocks. If you prefer a lower proof add a dash of water, but it's so smooth you most likely won't need it! Each bottle also comes with a hand dipped wax cap.
Type of oak: French oak ex red wine.
Roasting grade: medium, roasting grade defines sweetness.
Barrel capacity: 225L Storage at room temperature 25 C.
Valleys area. 1380 meters above sea level.
Time: 44 months of aging
Alcoholic degree: 43% (86 proof)
First off I always keep a bottle of Cava extra anejo on hand. So naturally when they released this I had to try one. At first I wasn't really impressed. It def had a different taste, not as sweet. But after a couple weeks of sipping between the two I've come to love this one. I look forward to further limited edition releases. I will always have the regular Cava Extra Anejo on hand and this is nice to compare with but not a MUST HAVE in my mind. Only 4 stars because of price
Goes down so easy! Extremely smooth tequila.
This Tequila was recommended to me by Zack, and I was not disappointed. I've tried the regular Cava de Oro and noticed the difference in taste between the two with the Barrica being more aged and refined. I recommend this Tequila, which does not have a sweet taste as the Adictivo extra Anejo.
I first found this Tequila in Cobo. This is GREAT you will not be disappointed. You will be Hooked!
Very smooth, with good flavor of long aged oak and hint of caramel
