My favorite in a close race
I'm a big fan of El Jolgorio mezcal and have 5 or 6 different bottles. This is my favorite because brings the most musty minerality and complex finish in my opinion, although it is very close and similar to tepeztate. If you haven't had these types of high end mezcals before, they are not very smoky, but are more herbaceous and complex. Smoke would hide those flavors. Quite different from many cheaper brands so step up and give it a try if you're ready.
