The best vintages for Chardonnay always seem to be signaled in the spring by an abundance of Golden Poppies. The propitious flower covers the hillsides around the vineyard just about the time the vines start pushing leaves and berries are small dots m bright green stems. The 2017 Poppy Chardonnay opens with a gust of tropical fruit and is balanced with just enough oak to give the wine structure and a lingering vanilla finish.
