Description
Arette Artesanal Blanco Tequila – 80 Proof (40% ABV) | 700ml
Traditional, agave-forward, and crafted with a greater emphasis on historic production methods, Arette Artesanal Blanco Tequila is a small-batch expression produced by the Orendain family at the historic El Llano Distillery in Tequila, Jalisco. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 700ml bottle, this unaged tequila showcases cooked agave alongside mineral, citrus, herbal, pepper, and floral notes.
Process & Production
Arette Artesanal Blanco is produced at El Llano Distillery (NOM 1109) using 100% Blue Weber agave sourced from the Tequila Valley of Jalisco.
The Artesanal line differs from Arette's Clásico range through its more traditional production process. Agave piñas are slowly cooked for approximately 48 hours in stone and brick ovens rather than autoclaves before being crushed with a roller mill.
Fermentation takes place in open-air concrete tanks using native house yeast, followed by double distillation in pot stills with copper coils. Deep well water is used throughout production.
As a Blanco expression, there is no traditional oak-barrel maturation, keeping the focus firmly on the cooked agave and traditional production character.
Appearance
Crystal clear and brilliant, with a clean appearance characteristic of an unaged Blanco tequila.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Soft and expressive with aromas of cooked agave, citrus, fresh herbs, floral notes, and pepper, accompanied by subtle mineral character.
Palate: Smooth and agave-forward with natural sweetness, herbs, citrus, green notes, pepper, and gentle floral character.
Finish: Pleasant and refreshing with lingering agave sweetness, citrus, herbs, and pepper, maintaining a clean and balanced character.
What Makes It Special
Arette Artesanal Blanco stands apart from the standard Arette Blanco through its emphasis on traditional production methods.
Instead of pressure cooking the agave in autoclaves, the Artesanal line uses stone and brick ovens for approximately 48 hours. Open-air fermentation in concrete tanks and double distillation further preserve the character of the agave and the traditional approach of the El Llano Distillery.
Arette also describes its Artesanal range as a limited-production line, making it a step up from the brand's everyday Clásico expressions for drinkers seeking a more traditionally produced tequila.
How to Enjoy
Best enjoyed neat or in a tequila tasting glass to appreciate its cooked-agave, mineral, citrus, herbal, and pepper characteristics. Its bright agave profile also works exceptionally well in an elevated Margarita, Paloma, or Ranch Water.

Light and easy to drink
This is a good intro tequila. Very light and easy to drink. It takes on the flavor of what ever you mix it with. Tastes great on the rocks as well.
