Process & Production

Arriesgado Artesanal Añejo begins with mature Blue Weber agaves that are slowly cooked in fire-heated masonry ovens, allowing the agaves to develop exceptional natural sweetness. After cooking, the agaves are hand-crushed using the traditional "Canoa y Mazo" (canoe and mallet) method, preserving the integrity of the fibers and maximizing flavor extraction.

The juice is naturally fermented in open-air wooden vats with agave fibers before being double distilled in wood-fired copper pot stills. The tequila is then aged in American oak barrels, where it develops remarkable complexity while maintaining the bold agave character that defines the Arriesgado style.

Appearance

Deep golden amber with rich copper highlights and brilliant clarity.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Inviting aromas of cooked agave, vanilla, caramel, toasted oak, baking spices, roasted nuts, cocoa, light smoke, and dried fruit.

Palate: Full-bodied and exceptionally smooth with layers of roasted agave, toffee, caramel, vanilla bean, dark chocolate, toasted oak, cinnamon, black pepper, and subtle smoky earthiness.

Finish: Long, warm, and elegant with lingering notes of sweet agave, oak spice, cocoa, caramel, light smoke, and a touch of pepper.

What Makes It Special

Arriesgado Artesanal Añejo revives tequila-making methods dating back more than a century, combining fire-heated masonry ovens, hand-crushing, natural fermentation, and wood-fired copper pot distillation with the elegance of American oak aging. Unlike many heavily oaked añejos, it remains distinctly agave-forward while developing rich layers of barrel-derived complexity.

Bottled at 45% ABV, this expression offers a richer mouthfeel and greater intensity than traditional 40% añejos, making it an exceptional sipping tequila for enthusiasts who appreciate authentic, traditionally crafted spirits.

How to Enjoy

Enjoy neat in a tequila tasting glass to experience its full complexity, or allow it to open for several minutes before sipping to reveal additional layers of oak, spice, and roasted agave.

Its rich profile pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, slow-roasted pork, mole, aged cheeses, dark chocolate, roasted pecans, or a fine cigar.
