Description

El Negocio Reposado Tequila – 86 Proof (43% ABV) | 750ml

Refined, mineral-driven, and traditionally crafted, El Negocio Reposado Tequila offers a distinctive expression of the Jalisco Lowlands, combining vibrant agave character with elegant French oak influence. Bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof) in a 750ml bottle, this additive-free reposado delivers remarkable balance, showcasing bright citrus, rich chocolate, and the unmistakable minerality that has become synonymous with Cascahuín craftsmanship.

Process & Aging

Produced at the legendary NOM 1123 Cascahuín Distillery in El Arenal, Jalisco, El Negocio Reposado is crafted from 100% Blue Weber Agave (Agave Tequilana Weber) harvested from the Zona Valles (Jalisco Lowlands). The tequila is distilled using traditional methods before being rested in French oak Memento Mori barrels, where it develops additional depth and complexity while preserving the vibrant character of the agave.

Bottled at a slightly elevated 43% ABV, this reposado offers enhanced texture, aroma, and flavor, making it an exceptional sipping tequila.

Appearance

Light golden straw with warm amber highlights, reflecting its careful maturation in French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromas of rich chocolate and bright orange intertwine beautifully with fresh citrus, creating an elegant and inviting bouquet.

Palate: Clean and slightly sweet with flavors of cooked agave, dark chocolate, candied orange peel, citrus zest, vanilla, and subtle baking spice, all supported by a silky mouthfeel.

Finish: Long and memorable, finishing with a burst of signature Lowlands minerality complemented by delicate French oak and lingering sweet agave.

What Makes It Special

El Negocio Reposado is handcrafted at the highly respected Cascahuín Distillery (NOM 1123), one of Mexico's premier producers of traditional, additive-free tequila. Its use of French oak Memento Mori barrels creates a unique flavor profile that differs from traditional American oak-aged reposados, contributing elegant spice and refined oak character without masking the agave.

Combined with its higher bottling proof and authentic Lowlands terroir, El Negocio Reposado offers a sophisticated balance of richness, freshness, and minerality that appeals to both seasoned tequila enthusiasts and collectors.

How to Enjoy

Best enjoyed neat or in a tasting glass to fully appreciate its layered aromas and mineral-driven finish. It also performs beautifully in elevated tequila cocktails where its citrus and oak complexity can shine.

    El Negocio Reposado

I’m giving it points for uniqueness ( I can keep coming back to this one). I’m liking wine aged tequila more and more. Montagave is another. I have to mention that there are many that fail at this and almost leave me not wanting to try wine aged tequila ( Herradura). Here, the coffee, chocolate, tobacco dates, vanilla oak , cinnamon earthy anise all come together harmoniously. No, not agave forward but it’s definitely there. I also like that it’s not that sweet. I highly recommended you try it.
