Process & Aging
Cazcanes No. 9 Rosa Blanco begins with the agave-forward foundation characteristic of Cazcanes tequila before undergoing a distinctive short maturation designed specifically for this Rosa expression.
The tequila is placed in first-fill French oak casks previously used for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and aged for 31 days. This brief period of contact with wine-seasoned French oak allows the tequila to develop additional fruit, tannin, and barrel character without the extended maturation associated with traditional aged tequila.
After 31 days, the finished tequila is bottled at a substantial 50% ABV (100 proof), preserving the intensity and structure of the spirit.
Appearance
Delicate blush and pale rosé hues influenced by its brief maturation in Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon-seasoned French oak casks.
Tasting Notes

What Makes It Special
The defining feature of Cazcanes No. 9 Rosa Blanco is its unusual combination of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon casks, first-fill French oak, and a precise 31-day maturation.
Rather than relying on extended barrel aging, Cazcanes uses a relatively brief period in wine-seasoned oak to introduce additional color and flavor while retaining the brighter qualities of the underlying tequila.
The use of Cabernet Sauvignon casks from Napa Valley contributes a wine-driven dimension, while French oak provides additional structure and complexity. At 100 proof, the resulting tequila maintains a bold presence that complements the influence of the casks.
How to Enjoy
Best enjoyed neat in a tequila tasting glass to appreciate the interaction between fresh agave and Cabernet Sauvignon cask influence. Allow it several minutes to rest after pouring to reveal additional fruit and oak characteristics.
At 100 proof, a few drops of water can also help open the tequila and soften its intensity while revealing additional aromatic complexity.

Amazing Juice
This is really an amazing blanco. I love higher-proof tequilas, and this one took it to another level with the natural rose coloring from the Napa Cabernet oak barrels. Clean and pure with flutters of stone fruit and whiffs of jasmine. The silky, viscous mouthfeel without it coming off as too “hot” in alcohol is a treat. I wish I could afford to make this my “everyday tequila.”
