Del Maguey San Dionisio Ocotepec Mezcal 750ml
Del Maguey San Dionisio Ocotepec is made with agave Espadin and agave Tepeztate on a ranch high above San Dionisio Ocotepec, Oaxaca, in the small village of Las Milpas. Mezcalero Anastacio Cruz Antonio roasted the agave Espadin and Tepeztate together in an earthen oven that is lined with solid granite. The roasted agave was then milled separately by horse drawn tahona, and fermented separately with open-air yeasts. These agaves were then then double distilled separately in a 150 liter copper alembic still, before being blended post-distillation.
Expressions, like this one, in the Del Maguey del Campo Series are one-of-a-kind productions celebrating the time-honored practices of the palenqueros and agaveros. Every small batch is a unique field blend with a composition dictated by which locally available maguey are at the peak of maturity.
