Hampden Estate, the lords of the funk, have finally put out their own bottling of aged rum, and what a lordly dram it is. High ester, wild fermented, 100% pot still, and tropically aged for over eight years at the estate with nothing but their own spring water added. This is beautiful, pure, natural rum. Nose is caramelized apples, sweet spices, and a delicate touch of smoke. Dry and smooth on the palate, with notes of old wood, tropical fruit, and resin.
