Description
Salvadores Mezcal Destilado con Cempasúchil 750ml
Each year, in honor of Día de los Muertos, Salvadores crafts a special batch of mezcal distilled with cempasúchil, or marigold. This culturally significant flower is used to adorn the altars known as ofrendas, so its fragrant scent may guide souls from their burial places to their family homes where mezcal is commonly offered to welcome and toast their arrival. This special batch is also distilled with Mandarin orange and another Day of the Dead staple—the hawthorn fruit tejocote— to honor and celebrate the journey of these ancestors.
Limited edition mezcal distilled with cempasúchil (marigold) in Tlacolula de Matamoros, Oaxaca, at Casa Palacios (NOM 0654X)

Milled by horse-drawn stone tahona
Fermented in traditional wooden vats (tinas) using well water

Marigold flowers (cempasúchil), tejocote (Mexican hawthorn), and Mandarin orange are added directly to the still during the second distillation
